Click on the "forms" link to find the forms for new clients. Please fill them out and bring them to your first appointment. If you prefer, you can come about 10 minutes early for your appointment and I will leave copies for you in the waiting room.
When you call, you and I will talk briefly about your reason for considering making an appointment, and then find an appointment time. Then if you are using insurance, I will get your insurance information from you, and call your insurance company for you, so that you will know how your policy works.
Brynda Quinn, PhD
Your first appointment is a chance to see if we want to work together. I will let you know what I would suggest for you. If you agree, we make more appointments. It's that simple.
You know you are struggling with some sort of emotional distress, but is therapy what you want? You might be asking yourself "what is therapy, anyway?" First, what it is not: it is not a paid friend, it is not someone who just listens and nods (although listening is important, it isn't everything) and it is not "just for crazy people."
Therapy is a process in which talking to someone who is compassionate and knowledgeable will help you understand yourself and your problems, and then take action to change what is causing your distress.
